There was a time when all it took to be a web designer was a computer and an internet connection. Now, however, times have changed and this field requires a great deal of training if you are to make a career out of it. The Art Institute of Raleigh-Durham, a campus of South University, offers students both Associate of Applied Science and Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Web Design & Interactive Media programs.

There is so much more to web design than just being good at computers, and many of their students are artists at heart. After all, this is a design field, and by having a good understanding of the basics of art, you will have a firm foundation on which to build. By learning the fundamentals of drawing, color, and design, you will better be able to put your technological skills to work.

Students who graduate with a degree in Web Design & Interactive Media can find themselves working in unusual fields - fashion, film, television, publishing companies, advertising firms, or even the government. Every industry has a need to utilize the internet and with a degree in web design, you will be well prepared to find a job!
